My area of expertise, and my passion, is in helping
others discover the power of the beliefs and
perceptions they have about themselves and their
world, and the miracles that can happen through
consciously chosen attitudinal shifts
I received my BS in Psychology in 1979 in Portland,
OR and my Masters in Clinical Psychology in 1984 in
Seattle WA. I completed my Life Coach training at
The Life Coach Institute in 2004.
My work experience has so far been primarily in the
mental health field. Since 1980 I have worked 17yrs
in a number of agencies and clinics mostly as a
therapist and instructor. For the past 8 yrs, I
worked in mental health for a large corporation and
understand the unique stress that employees can feel
as they attempt to maneuver a system that doesn't
always seem fair or make sense.
In 1984, I received my Certification in
Reality Therapy which is a counseling
technique that focuses primarily on goal
setting and behavioral change. I began my
training in Cognitive Psychology at that
time also. During my time as a therapist and
teacher, I taught a number of classes on
utilizing the concepts of Cognitive
Psychology to create a more stress-free
life.Over the past couple of years I have found a fascinating overlap between
traditional cognitive work and the principles of Zen and am finding the most
beautiful blending of the two as I work with my clients. |

| I currently live just outside of Portland, Oregon with
my husband and best friend, my 12 year old daughter,
who is the joy of my life, a Golden Retriever who
eats socks, and 4 goldfish that just keep getting
bigger and bigger. I didn't know they did that. I'm in love with the life I have created. It
absolutely delights me.
My clients and students have described me as
unpretentious, playful, compassionate, supportive,
and enthusiastic.
My mother complains at times that I am too rational,
too logical. It's true that having a book of brain
teasers in front of me is my idea of heaven. But I
live a very spiritual life and love working at
either or both levels.
I also love music, reading, nature ....if I can move
as slowly as I want in it, having coffee with
friends, laughing until my sides hurt, and being a
wife and mother.
I truly and deeply enjoy people. And I can't wait to
begin this journey with you. |
