Personal Philosophy
My assumption before working
with anyone is that they are a miracle. And
that there is nothing about them that needs
to be "fixed". Everyone who seeks
help is already doing the best they can. There is
nothing broken about that.
My personal philosophy is that emotions such
as worry or anger are not created by the events in your
life. They are created by how you look at and
evaluate those events. There is nothing wrong with
reacting to situations this way.
Sometimes no matter how you look at it, it makes
total sense to do so. But what I'm here to help you
learn is new information and effective tools that
will help you reach a point where reacting to many
events with stress just doesn't make that much sense
anymore.
And when this happens, it will feel like magic.
I borrow my ideas from the areas of Cognitive
Psychology, Eastern philosophies, and, my own life
experience. I am not married to what worked for me.
The priority for me always is that my client finds
peace in their lives. If standing on your head
reciting Shakespeare brings you peace of mind, you can be sure
that one of your assignments will be Hamlet. |
